Low Level Laser Therapy has many uses depending on the type of light used, the wavelength and the delivery method. In the case of animals, light therapy is most commonly used to help accelerate wound and muscle healing, and assist with the management of pain.

Whilst light therapy can be used on existing issues, it can also be used on areas prone to strain. The part of the cell that is benefiting from the light therapy is called the ‘mitochondria’. This is the cells powerhouse that produces all the energy that the cell requires to function. When the mitochondria absorb the light therapy they produce certain substances that provide an energy source to the cells, along with promoting protein production  and growth of cells and support systems.
